\&\fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR is an \s-1AIX\s0 \s-1LAM\s0 (Loadable Authentication Modules)
module that can create new \s-1AFS\s0 sessions and acquire \s-1AFS\s0 tokens from
Kerberos 5 tickets. It is similar in function to the \fIaklog\fR\|(1) program,
and various \s-1PAM\s0 modules such as \fIpam_afs_session\fR\|(8).

\&\fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR does not obtain any credentials on its own, nor does
it deal with passwords of any kind. You must have another way of obtaining
Kerberos 5 tickets before invoking \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR in order for it
to do anything useful. \s-1AIX\s0 comes with a \fB\s-1KRB5\s0\fR \s-1LAM\s0 module that can do
this.

Beyond the normal \s-1LAM\s0 options, \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR understands the
following options.

If this is specified, \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR will try to only utilize
UID-based PAGs. This means that when acquiring credentials,
\&\fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR will not try to create a new \s-1PAG\s0, and instead will
set tokens for the current \s-1UID\s0. If the current \s-1UID\s0 is root,
\&\fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR will look up the \s-1UID\s0 of the user we are
authenticating for, and will set tokens for that \s-1UID\s0 instead.

Specifying this option is necessary for \s-1AFS\s0 tokens to be refreshed with
the \s-1CDE\s0 screen locking program, and possibly other \s-1LAM\s0 users.

Note that if \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR is run from a context that has a real
\&\s-1PAG\s0, it is impossible for it to set the tokens for a particular \s-1UID\s0. If
\&\fBuidpag\fR is set and this situation is detected, \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR
will log an error, but will attempt to continue and will just create a new
\&\s-1PAG\s0, as if \fBuidpag\fR were not set.

Normally, \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR will look up the \s-1AFS\s0 \s-1ID\s0 of the username
for which it is acquiring credentials by looking the in \s-1AFS\s0 Protection
Database. Specifying the \fBlocaluid\fR option instead causes
\&\fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR to look up the relevant user via \fIgetpwnam\fR\|(3), and
to use the returned \s-1UID\s0 for the \s-1AFS\s0 \s-1ID\s0.

This will only work correctly if the IDs of local users and their \s-1AFS\s0 IDs
in the \s-1AFS\s0 Protection Database are synchronized, and will only work for
users of the local cell.

Specifying \fBlocaluid\fR makes \fBaklog_dynamic_auth\fR avoid calling \s-1AFS\s0 pt
routines, which can crash certain long-running daemons that call into \s-1LAM\s0.
